Is CBD Legal?
The US Federal government passed the Farm Bill in December 2018, it was taken off of the list of controlled substances and moved to the regulation of the FDA, instead of the DEA. This makes CBD legal as long as it is sourced from industrial hemp and does not contain more than 0.3% THC.
What is CBD and how does it work?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is the primary cannabinoid found in MapleLotus products. It is one of over 100 naturally-occurring cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, and is among the most thoroughly researched alongside THC. Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that occur naturally in the human body, and actively interact with cannabinoid receptors located throughout the human body. When CBD binds to these receptors, it triggers various physiological actions.
How is CBD different from Marijuana?
While CBD is a naturally occurring component of Marijuana, it does not have any psychoactive or euphoric effect. The CBD we offer is derived directly from the industrial hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant.
What is the difference between broad and full spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum means it contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. Full-spectrum extracts from hemp also come with a negligible THC content — below 0.3%
Although non-psychoactive, full-spectrum CBD can give you a false positive during a drug test, especially if you consume high doses of CBD oil daily.
Broad-spectrum CBD contains cannabidiol and all the other compounds within the plant. However, it goes through an additional process to remove the trace amounts of THC, completely removing it after the initial extraction.
What can CBD be used for?
While we are not allowed to make any medical claims about CBD, we recommend that you do your own research, speak with your physician, or consult the CBD experts at iHealmed.com for more information.
What is an appropriate CBD dose?
The CBD dose will depend on how it is being consumed. Tincture doses will be different than doses for gummies, vapes or topicals. For tinctures, dosing instructions are written on the bottle of each product.
